Become a Journalist with TiP

Join after-school programming

Teens in Print welcomes writing from eighth through 12th grade students who live in Boston. Our staff writers write one article on a topic of their choice each term, and receive a $150 stipend for completion and attendance. We host staff writer programming at sites downtown and in Roxbury. To join us as a staff writer, fill out the form here.

If you can’t come to programming every week but you’re still interested in writing, you can submit a piece for publication here.

Apply for our Summer Journalism Institute

The Summer Journalism Institute is Teens in Print’s six-week summer program that brings students from around the city to Emerson College to explore multimedia journalism.

Students will learn about current events, reporting and writing, multimedia design, and college readiness while also participating in career exploration days each week.

Boston-resident youths 15 and older will be paid hourly through the BCYF SuccessLink program.

Applications will open in February 2020 — stay tuned!
